Mother's day fun

So, the day started out with one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Now, before I go on, it was really bound to happen at some point, I run a lot of races and at one time or another, I was likely to get the race day confused. So, because I KNEW the race was ON Mother's Day, I apparently never actually read the date in the 5 confirmation emails I received from the race coordinators and the team captain for Traci's Angels. Yeah, the race was on Saturday. Doug thank you for forgiving me. You have no idea how badly we wanted to be there.
We made the most of it and headed over to the Flying Biscuit on 10th and then took a nice family walk around Piedmont Park. The weather was perfect and the company was even better.
After that, it was Aidan's naptime. We headed back to the house and got ready for the zoo. Aidan LOVED the zoo. He wasn't super into the animals at first. He didn't seem to get it until he saw the turtles. Then all of sudden, he started to look around and his face just lighted up. There were animals EVERYWHERE! He had to talk to all of them. He did not understand why he wasn't allowed to go pet them. I think his favorite was the gorillas.
Enjoy!
