The big 3 weeks old!

We hope everyone is doing well. We're doing fantastic. Aidan has already grown an inch and has definitely gained weight. He's awake more now and is starting to notice things around him. He definitely recognizes his bottle and tries to hold it or sometimes knocks it out of his mouth.
He's having no problem with his day time sleep schedule, but likes to be awake from 10:30pm until around 1am. This is a bit of a challenge, but we're hopeful he will get past this faze soon. He is eating over 24 ozs during the day and that was the amount the nurse said he needed to get to, to be able to sleep through the night. Still waiting for that miraculous occasion!

Our post placement visit is next Tuesday. Essentially we will meet with the social worker who did our home study and talk to her about being parents. Give her an update on his doctor appointments, vital statistics, sleep and feeding schedules, and also how we're dealing with fussiness, sleep deprivation, ect. So, the same stuff we tell everyone else.

My running has taken a back seat for the past few weeks, but Aidan will be big enough for his running stroller next week and I'm SO looking forward to getting back out there. I'm supposed to be training for a half marathon in October, and am a bit out of shape.

Aidan is doing really well with his tummy time. He can move his head from side to side consistently, but with effort. Its a good way for him to get his exercise. He kicks pretty hard when he's on his tummy and likes it when he can push off of our hand.

Much Love,
The Newtons
